1. Applications for Student Council are now available in the main office. If you are interested in joining our team next year, please pick one up today!
2. Attention all SHSM students in social justice and child care. The mandatory training is Thursday! If you were on the list and need to return your permission form, please do so immediately. Wear your uniform or spirit wear and meet in the caf at 8.40am on Thursday.
3. Are you taking coop next school year? There is a mandatory meeting on Thursday, April 9th immediately after announcements in the lecture hall.
4. Attention STEM students, STEM Olympics will be held the week of April 13th to April 16th. Create a group of no more than 4 students at the same grade level and sign up outside of room 3005. The week’s events include trivia, as well as grade level, math, and engineering challenges. Don’t miss the chance for your team to be declared STEM Olympics Champions! Sign up today!
5. Hey Lions, are you interested in tree planting this year? This amazing opportunity comes around once a year and is now open for those that are interested. There will be approximately 40 spots for students who would like to attend. Please pick up your permission from the social justice bulletin board outside of Guidance. There are 2 opportunities, a morning shift and an afternoon shift. READ it over carefully, and be sure to take a copy of the form for the shift that you would like to go on. You MUST return the signed forms to room 3024 during grade 9 lunch or at the end of the day. Forms are due by the 17th.
6. ULTIMATE FRISBEE try outs continue today. Dress for the weather!
7. The 180 Team is meeting on Thursday on the lunchtimes in the chapel. New members are always welcome.
8. This year’s spring dance is scheduled for Thursday, April 30th from 6-9pm, and the theme is 90’s Throwback! Ticket sales will begin for $5 on school cash online Monday, April 20th. If you plan to bring an outside guest, be sure to pick up a guest permission form from the main office starting today. No guest tickets will be sold without a signed permission form.
9. There will be a track and field meeting Wednesday the 8th from 3:00-4:00pm at the Track right after school. Please bring a change of clothes and this will be our first practice.
10. Vocal Ensemble is reminded of the solo auditions due to the dropboxes by Wednesday, April 8th at midnight. Also, for ALL music extra-curricular groups who will be attending the Festival at Wonderland – PLEASE let Mr. G or Ms. “O” know if you have a season’s pass. Those students will get a reduced cost for their ticket. We need to know by Friday, April 10th!
11. Yoga club spirit wear will be arriving today. You may pick up at practice this evening or on your lunch in rm 3014 Thursday.
12. A reminder to LAC and Book Club members about the upcoming trip on May 13th to the Forest of Reading Festival in Toronto and Chapters at Limeridge Mall. Permission forms are now available from a librarian and School Cash is open. Everything is due for April 20th. Please come get your permission form ASAP.
13. Just a friendly reminder for all those who are travelling on the England and France trip next year to please pick up your permission form packages from Mrs. McLaughlin in room 2052 on your lunch. You are not eligible to travel if you do not submit the required permission forms. For those still interested in joining the trip, more spots have opened due to overwhelming demand! Come by room 2052 for a flyer and a registration link to ensure your spot before these spots fill up fast and registration closes!
14. Attention Grade 9 and 10 students! Are you interested in traveling to Greece in your Grade 11 or 12 year? Sign-ups are now open for the 2028 ACS Arts March Break trip to Greece! Spots for this once-in-a-lifetime experience are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis—so be sure to register early to secure your place. Early enrollment also lets you lock in current pricing and access the lowest monthly payment options. Want to learn more? Pick up an information package outside Room 2015, speak with Ms. Benoit, or attend the information session on April 29 at 7:00 PM in the lecture hall. Plus, there will be door prizes!
