1. Students needing a schedule change can sign up in the guidance office. Note- many courses are full, including all online courses, so there isn’t much room for changes. The last day to sign up is this Friday Feb 6th. Due to the overwhelming demand, it may take several days for students to be seen, you must continue to follow your current schedule until you are called.
2. Attention graduating grade 12 students! Valedictorian applications are due February 13th in the main office with your essay. An electronic copy of your essay must also be submitted to sosullivan@bhncdsb.ca
3. Attention all Prefects, please log-in to update your Prefect Profile – semester 2 availability so we can update our systems and be ready to proudly serve our school this semester. If you need any help, speak to Mr Nagler.
4. Looking for the perfect valentines day surprise? For just $2 you can send a beautiful carnation and a chocolate treat to your special someone. Student council will deliver your gift to homeroom classes on Friday, February 13th. Purchase your flowers today at the back of the caf on all three lunches.
5. The Waterloo Math Contests are fast approaching! If you are interested in writing the Pascal, Cayley, Fermat or Euclid math contests, please check the Math or STEM D2L pages for an entry quiz to confirm your participation and complete them before this Friday. You do not need to be enrolled in a math course to participate in the contest. If you have any questions, please email Mr. Stec.
6. Attention swim team members! Please check you emails. Our AABHN championship meet has been rescheduled for Thursday, February 5th (this Thursday) from 10am to 3pm at the Ross McDonald Pool in Brantford. Also, practices start again tonight. See you there!
7. The 180 Team is meeting this Thursday on all lunchtimes. New members are always welcome. Meet in the chapel at the beginning of your scheduled lunchtime.
8. Hey Lions, it’s TUESDAY! And do you know what that means? You guessed it – Vocal Ensemble returns! New members are welcome – go to the Lecture Hall after school today from 3-4pm and see what it’s all about!
9. Attention students! There is an exciting French trip to Montreal coming up this April. Highlights of the trip include visiting the Notre-Dame Basilica and the Montreal Biodome. There is also a possible opportunity to attend a Montreal Canadiens hockey game. Hockey tickets sell out very quickly, so if you are interested in the trip and want the chance to go to the game, you need to act fast. See or email Mme. Danielle Beccari as soon as possible for more information.
10. Lions, get ready for our Blind Date with a Book contest running all February! Come to the library, unwrap a mystery book, and use lines from the book to create your own found poem. Submit your poem for a chance to win one of two Amazon gift cards. Drop in, get creative, and let a surprise-read spark something new!
11. Todays special in the servery will be Penne Pasta with Beef meatballs topped with tomato basil sauce served with a side of Garlic toast for $5.75. Pasta with red sauce with garlic toast is $4.99. The line up in the caf due to a shortage of a cash register should be slightly improved this week.
Have a great start to Sememester 2 Lions!
