1. Applications for Student Council are now available in the main office. If you are interested in joining our team next year, please pick one up today!
2. Are you taking coop next school year? If you missed the meeting in the lecture hall yesterday, please visit the coop office during lunch today.
3. Attention Lions: there is a DELF help session for B1 students in room 2005 at 3 o’clock today.
4. Attention all ACS Prefect Recruits, please check your school email for a Welcome message from Mr. Nagler. We ask that you continue checking your school email regularly for updates on your application and Prefect Recruitment
5. A reminder to LAC and Book Club members about the upcoming trip on May 13th to the Forest of Reading Festival in Toronto and Chapters at Limeridge Mall. Permission forms are now available from a librarian and School Cash is open. Everything is due for April 20th. Please submit your permission form ASAP.
6. Attention STEM students, STEM Olympics will be held the week of April 20th to April 24th (please note the date change). Create a group of no more than 4 students at the same grade level and sign up outside of room 3005. The week’s events include trivia, as well as grade level, math, and engineering challenges. Don’t miss the chance for your team to be declared STEM Olympics Champions!
7. Hey Lions, are you interested in tree planting this year? This amazing opportunity comes around once a year and is now open for those that are interested. There will be approximately 40 spots for students who would like to attend. Please pick up your permission from the social justice bulletin board outside of Guidance. There are 2 opportunities, a morning shift and an afternoon shift. READ it over carefully, and be sure to take a copy of the form for the shift that you would like to go on. You MUST return the signed forms to room 3024 during grade 9 lunch or at the end of the day. Forms are due by the 17th.
8. This is a reminder to all Concert Band members of our 2 events happening next week. Sanderson Centre on Tuesday and Tri-High on Thursday. Please have both permission forms in on this Monday’s practice. Oh, and yes we rehearse on Monday.
9. Congrats to Our Junior Badminton for capturing the AABHN title. Chrisangeline and Heidi captured the Girls Doubles title, while Cameron and Andrew captured the Boys Doubles title. Additionally, Brenden, Chloe and Bhavya all placed 2nd and also qualified for CWOSSA. Good job, Lions!
10. We are thrilled to announce an incredible achievement at this year’s City Championships—ACS Senior Badminton has won the city Tournament Champions! With determination, skill, and teamwork, our athletes delivered an outstanding performance across all categories, securing multiple titles and podium finishes. City Champions Mixed Doubles: Matt & Victoria undefeated and never wavered, Boys Singles: Chris most points scored on him was 10, second place finishes Boys Singles: Gavin, scored the 10 points on Chris, Girls Singles: Joy rocky start but came back and took out the number 1 and 2 seed, Girls Doubles: Halle & Indie not the easiest path to get second place but fought hard and never gave up. These results earned us the top spot overall, making us the best-performing team at the entire tournament—an incredible accomplishment that reflects the dedication and hard work of every player.
11. Friday's special in the servery will be Rudy's favourite Cheeseburger and fries topped with tomatoes, onions or pickles for $7.99. Onion rings available for $4.50. Cinnamon buns at 10:15 am.
