Deafblind Awareness Month
The goal of the CNIB Deafblind Awareness Program is to have fun creating a sensory garden. In addition to growing plants from seeds, the job skills 1 class at Assumption College also learned about what it might be like to have a disability such as having a hearing or visual impairment. Students wore blindfolds and had to find certain locations in the school. Then they listened to instructions from the teacher while using ear plugs and had to follow instructions such as drawing shapes on a piece of paper. Overall, it was a great learning experience for the students.
