Mission Trip 2024
On Friday, January 26th, a group of 18 dedicated students from Assumption and St. John's College travelled to New Orleans to assist in the ongoing rebuilding efforts for those still affected from the life changing dangers cause by of Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
This year marks the 27th mission trip by students, teachers, and volunteers from the BHNCDSB into areas of devastation caused by natural disasters.
Over the course of a week students worked with the St. Bernard Project to re-build fences and mud homes. Students worked in the lower 9th ward, an area hit the hardest by Hurricane Katrina. Nineteen years later the headlines have disappeared, but the need continues. We thank the many volunteers at the St Bernard project for their assistance. We are so very proud of our students who gave witness to their faith during this week of volunteering.
