Today is our last day for our Toiletry Drive. We would like to extend a huge Thank You to everyone who donated items to support our community. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. Second period teachers, if you could place your collection of Toiletry items outside of your classroom at 2pm, that would be great. Thank you again!

French Club is starting up next week! We will be holding French club during all three lunches next Friday. Grade 10s meet us in room 3026, Grade 9s see you in room 2004 and seniors, we will meet you in room 2060! Bring your French accents and be ready to have some fun!

Consider joining ACE or GEM. ACE stands for Advocacy, Community and Empowerment. It is a group of Assumption students, staff and community members who are committed to creating a safe and accepting school community by changing or creating antidiscrimination policies, raising awareness, facilitating conversation, and acknowledging social or political injustices. If you’re interest in gender equity and would like to promote change in our school to create a safe place for all gender identities, join GEM, which stands for Gender Equity Movement. Attention any students interested in learning Punjabi. The Grand Erie District School Board is offering a Punjabi secondary school credit on Saturdays at Walter Gretzky Elementary School. Please see Student Services for more information.
Attention Grade 12 and 5th year students. Have you been visiting your grade 12 D2L page? Make sure you check out the calendar for important dates and virtual university and college presentations. Hey graduating students! are you an original and creative thinker, committed to your school and community, a high achiever in academic and creative pursuits, enthusiastic about learning and intellectual exploration, and intending to apply to University of Toronto for September of 2022? Then you should sign up for an interview to be Assumption's nominee for the University of Toronto Book award and scholarship. The sign up sheet is in Student Services and the deadline to sign up for an interview is the end of the day Thursday, October 7. Interviews will be held next Tuesday, October 12 in student services.
ATTENTION Grade 11 and12 students- would you like to 'MAJOR" in any of the following areas while in high school: Social Justice, The Environment, Healthcare, The Arts, Sports, Communication and Information Technology, Manufacturing, Transportation, or Business? Then the Specialist High Skills Major "SHSM" program is for you! Please get an application form from your grade 11 or 12 "majors" course teacher OR in Student Services today. Applications are due this month.
ATTENTION Grade 12 and 13 students- the Loran scholarship criteria has changed for this year: it is now available to any students who have had over 85% average the past three years, who is a Canadian Citizen or permanent resident, and there is now no limit to the number of applicants per school. The Loran application can be found online and is due October 13 at 8pm.
COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS can be submitted to student services once you have recorded the minimum number of hours and have it signed by a parent/guardian. Remember, you don't need signatures of supervisors, just their name and contact information so we can confirm the hours.
