Attention Lions.  This week is Registration Week.  During period 1, students are asked to return their Signed Course Selection sheets and their School Cash Online Receipt to our secretarial team in the cafeteria.  Students are only to be released from class if they have shown their teachers the two pieces of paper required for registration.  Get your registration forms in early to get the courses you want.

The Jack.Org chapter will be meeting tonight at 3:05pm in Room 3021! The meeting will take place until 3:30 pm! See you there and have a mentally healthy day!

Attention Grade 12 SHSM Students: Your Mandatory First Aid Training is approaching. Please check your school email for more information and/or see the lists posted on the windows of the student services office. If you have any questions or concerns go to student services. This training is only for grade 12 SHSM students. If you are in grade 11 and enrolled in a SHSM you will receive first aid training next school year.

Lions, please support our clothing drive to assist those impacted by the massive earthquake in Turkey and Syria last week.  Please bring in any clothing donation you may have to your homeroom class. The items requested can be new or gently used and are requested for all age groups, all sizes, and for males and females. There will be a poster for each classroom with all the details.  This clothing drive end on Tuesday, February 21st. Thank you for your support, Lions.

Attention ACS Knitting Club members.  Our next meeting will be taking place on Wednesday, February 22nd from 3pm to 4pm in Portable 17.  If you need more yarn, pop into the portable anytime.  Thank you for all you do.

Murder. Serial Killer. Legacy. Father. Daughter.  Sound intriguing? This is what Canadian author, Kate McLocklin's White Pine nominated book “Daughter” is all about. Book Club and LEAP are excited to announce that Kate McLocklin herself will join us virtually here at ACS on Thursday, February 23rd at 12pm in a yet to be determined location. Make sure to sign up at the library doors by Monday, February 20th. This is your opportunity to ask Kate all your questions! See your Library Staff for more information.

A special contest for all students is happening right now in the Library. It's called Blind Date With A Book! For the rest of February come to the Library and unwrap a book and create a Poem using the book you selected. The best poem will win an Amazon gift certificate. Rush to the library today before all the Blind Date Books are gone. LEAP members who enter the contest will receive a LEAP point. Contest closes March 1st.

STEM is working with all the other schools in Brantford to put together a Vision 2024 Conference Titled "The World is Waiting". The committee of teachers is looking for some visual inspiration.  As such we are running a poster contest.  Your poster should take up approximately 2/3 of a 8 ½x11” page, because there will need to be room for writing on the poster.  The graphic should evoke inspiration, hope, and change through technology.  We are excited to see what you come up with! Due date: Thursday March 9, 2023.  If possible, please use Adobe to create the file, and please save as a Vector File.  For more information or to submit a drawing, please see Mr. Page in Room 3005.

Happy Friday Lions!  Today’s special in the cafeteria will be Butter Chicken on Basmati Rice for $5.75.  Have a wonderful weekend and see you on Tuesday for our Pancake Special.  Three pancakes for $4.00 or Pancakes and Bacon for $5.00.
