The Board Game Club will be meeting TODAY in the Library at 3pm.  All are welcome to join.

Attention members of Vocal Ensemble: those that want to sing for the Thanksgiving Mass are reminded to come to the gym at 8:30a.m. on Thursday, October 5th (tomorrow) for sound check and final rehearsal. IF you missed rehearsal but still want to be part of the Mass please email Mrs. Ratelband so she can get you caught up on the songs.

Attention all Cross-Country Runners! There will be a MANDATORY meeting Thursday during both lunches. Grade 9s and 11s please go to Room 1004. Grade 10s and 12s please go to Room 3015. All runners who will participate in the races next week must have signed permission forms. Thanks from your coaches!

Attention students interested in the ACS swim team. Practices begin TOMORROW after school at the Wayne Gretzky Centre. Please see Ms. Ristov for a permission form if you have not done so already. See you at the pool!

Mathematics Club and contest prep will begin Thursday, October 5th in the Library from 3 to 4pm. Please let Mr. Stec or Mr. Hare know if you are able to attend.

The 180 Team are asked to bring in their retreat permission forms by this Friday. The retreat is taking place next Tuesday.

Anyone interested in joining the Library Advisory Council this year are welcome to come to the first meeting this Thursday before school at 8:15am in the Innovation Lab. If you cannot get here at that time, no problem, come when you can, or see Mrs. Engell. The LAC is a great club to meet new people, promote all things library, and to just have fun. Dear ACS Knitting Club.  There is no meeting this week. We will meet next Thursday, October 12th after school from 3 to 4pm in Portable 17. See you then! Come and grab more yarn if you need any before/after school. Thank you for working on your yarn creations.

he Homecoming dance is fast approaching on Thursday October 12th. Ticket are on sale this week and can be purchased on school cash online starting TODAY. Ensure you get your tickets early as this event is likely to sell out. A reminder that guest tickets will be sold at the back of the cafeteria until Monday only. Completed guest forms are still available in the main office and must be filled out completely before a ticket will be sold. Only one guest per ACS student is allowed, and they must be enrolled in high school.

The Brant County Health Unit will be resuming the program HEROS (Health Educators Reaching Other Students) beginning Tuesday, October 10. HEROS is geared towards high school students aged 13-18. The program's primary focus is to have fun while learning about and promoting messages on Healthy living and tobacco and substance prevention. Students can gain volunteer hours and receive a letter of reference after the program. Any interested students, please feel free to come to the office to pick up a flyer.

CWAYC is proud inform you about an exciting opportunity that is available to all ACS students.  The Forum for Young Canadians is hosting the My Canada Project.  Students between the ages of 14 and 18 are being asked to answer the question “What does Canada mean to you?”  My Canada Project entries can be submitted in any format that can be uploaded, such as: a poem, an essay, a speech, a song, a video, a photo, artwork or other.  Projects can be submitted IN ANY LANGUAGE.  What does Canada inspire in you?  How can we grow?  What hope and vision do you hold for Canada’s future? Projects must be handed into the My Canada Project website at mycanada.forum.ca by October 13th.  For further details, see the CWAYC bulletin board outside student services or email Mrs. Flanagan.

Practices for the girl's rugby team will begin on Thursday, October 5th, in preparation for the Spooky Sevens rugby tournament. Practices will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15-4:30 for the month of October. You must have been a member of the ACS girl's rugby team last year to attend the Spooky Sevens tournament. For those girls new to rugby, tryouts for the team will begin in second semester.  Permission forms can be picked up outside of Room 3010.

Parking passes for the year are now in the office.  If you have registered your vehicle, please come pick yours up.  If you still need to register your vehicle, please do so in the office and obtain your parking pass.  You have until Friday, October 6 to register your vehicle.  After Thanksgiving weekend, Administration will be issuing warnings to unregistered vehicles.

Today’s special in the cafeteria will be Cheese and Potato Perogies with caramelized onions served with Garden Salad or Fries for $6.00.  Add a water for 75 cents or a small apple juice for $1.05.  .  Have an awesome day Lions!
