Hey Lions! TONIGHT, our ACS Lions Football Teams will host St John’s College at Kiwanis Field. Juniors play at 5pm and Seniors at 7pm (both ACS and SJC Sr Teams are undefeated, so this is a battle for first place). To support We Scare Hunger, admission to the game will be two canned goods. Attention all SHSM health care students. Please pick up a permission form to attend the tour of Brantford General Hospital on Nov 2. This trip counts towards your SHSM completion. Spots are limited. Come to room 2029 (health care room) for the forms.
The Gr11 Drama Class is putting on a dinner theatre. The show, “Murder Me Always”, is a play within a play where the Director ends up shot! It’s a whodunnit where the audience plays detective and can guess the killer while interrogating the cast. With a colourful cast of characters, full of twists and turns it's sure to be a must see! Will this “real” murder mystery be any better than the fake one? Is art imitating life? Come find out on Thursday, November 9th. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students/seniors. This includes dinner cooked by your very own Foods classes at ACS, AND a show! Tickets start to go on sale THIS Monday, October 23rd at the back of the caf. Cash only please!
Attention grade 12 and 5th year students! Student Services will be hosting the University and College Application Workshops next week. The University Application Workshop will occur on Monday, October 23rd during period two grade 12 classes. The College Application Workshop will occur on Tuesday, October 24th during period two grade 12 classes. Students who have a period two spare, on-line course or enrolled in a period two, non-grade 12 class, are invited to the lecture hall to participate in the workshop. CO-OP students will participate in the workshops on Wednesday, November 1st.
Hey Lions, are you musically inclined? Do you enjoy performing in front of others? If so, student council is hosting an event just for you! Coffee house is on November 15th, and we would love to see you perform. This year, auditions will be submitted virtually. Please record a short 30 - 45 second video of you performing and email it to Ms. Ristov no later than Monday October 30th. Looking forward to seeing your amazing talents!
Amplify Your Culture is a long standing tradition here at Assumption…..and you are invited to be a part of it! On November 3rd our school cafeteria will be transformed into a carousel of nations where pre-registered classes will be invited down to take a walk around and look at the beautiful, colourful, detailed, displays that students will prepare to represent their culture. Think of it like taking a walk around the globe and learning about people from all over. This event has always provided our school community with wonderful learning opportunities, amazing music, cultural dress, and sometimes even some food. If you are interested in setting up a booth, to represent your culture please be sure to join our next meeting, October 26 in portable 13 – both lunches! All the information is on the social justice board outside of student services. Thank you!
This is a reminder to all Staff and Students that the Legal Changemaker Scavenger Hunt will close on Monday, Oct. 30th at 3:00 pm. There is still time to read the 14 posters at the front of the Caf and to submit the Changemakers’ names to the contest. The QR Code and link are posted with the biographies.
