Students Council is looking forward to hosting a very exciting day today. Hope you are all rocking your spirit wear and school colours in anticipation of today's pep rally. The Gay Straight Alliance or GSA is meeting in the Drama Room during first lunch and in the Library Reading Room during second lunch. Bring your party ideas to help plan our AWESOME HALLOWE'EN PARTY! The GSA will also meet after school today in Room 1007 to finish our mural. New members are welcome.
Attention all STEM members .... We have our first STEM presentation taking place this Thursday October 26th in the Lecture Hall. We welcome former lion Kaelyn Richards back to the den as she shares her story and discusses her role in Pharmaceutical Research. Note the dismissal times of 11:20am and 12:40pm for both lunches. Any Girls interested in trying out for the Jr or Sr Volleyball Teams please pick up a permission form and sign up outside the Female Phys Ed Office. Try out dates will be announced next week. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Ferraccioli.
Anyone interested in trying out for the ACS Boys varsity hockey team will need to get a permission form from one of the coaches in room 2027. The forms will be available after school, all week, and tryouts will start in November.

Remembrance Day is around the corner Lions. Don't miss out on your chance to thank a Canadian veteran. CWAYC is once again running the Thank a vet writing competition. In 500 words or less, what would you say to thank and honour a Canadian veteran? Entries can be submitted to the basket in the main office. The deadline to submit is Tuesday October 31st. There are prizes!
Attention students in grade 11 and 12. If you are planning to register for a Specialist High Skill Major you must have your registration form handed in to Student Services by Friday, October 27th. This is a great opportunity, don't miss out! See the SHSM lead teacher or your guidance counsellor for more information.
On November 3rd our school cafeteria will be filled with display booths from around the world and we want your help. Come and learn how to be a part of this event that will allow you to showcase your culture. Please be sure to join our next meeting, October 26 in Portable 13 – both lunches! The Grade 11 drama class is putting on a dinner theatre. The show, “Murder Me Always”, is a play within a play where the Director ends up shot! It’s a whodunnit where the audience plays detective and can guess the killer while interrogating the cast. With a colourful cast of characters, full of twists and turns it's sure to be a must see! Will this “real” murder mystery be any better than the fake one? Is art imitating life? Come find out on Thursday, November 9th. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students/seniors. This includes dinner cooked by your very own Foods classes at ACS, AND a show! Tickets start to go on sale TODAY at the back of the caf. Cash only please!
Hey Lions, are you musically inclined? Do you enjoy performing in front of others? If so, student council is hosting an event just for you! Coffee house is on November 15th, and we would love to see you perform. This year, auditions will be submitted virtually. Please record a short 30 - 45 second video of you performing and email it to Ms. Ristov no later than Monday October 30th. Looking forward to seeing your amazing talents!
The YMCA Youth of Tomorrow Team will be hosting a youth job fair (for youth ages 15-29) in Brantford on Tuesday November 7th. Local employers with both part-time and full-time opportunities will be onsite to collect resumes, answer questions and some may even do on the spot interviews. Refreshments will be provided, and attendees will have the opportunity to win a door prize! Show up with copies of your resume and dress to impress.
