Students Council thanks you for your great participation in yesterday's pep rally and movie night. Tomorrow to wrap up our spirit week we will be having a purple shirt day. Replace your uniform or spirit wear shirt with purple.

Attention all STEM members .... We have our first STEM presentation taking place this Thursday October 26th in the Lecture Hall. We welcome former lion Kaelyn Richards back to the den as she shares her story and discusses her role in Pharmaceutical Research. Note the dismissal times of 11:20am and 12:40pm for both lunches. Don't be late!

Could all members of last year's Chess Club, who are interested in participating at a Tournament in Waterford, please meet Mr. DaCosta TODAY during first lunch for a very brief information session.

All students participating in We Scare Hunger, here are a few reminders for Friday - Remember to be in the caf for 4 tomorrow, all driver's must be here for a brief meeting at 4.15pm, wear bright colours, dress warm, and be sure to bring a reuseable water bottle and snacks for yourself.

If you took chocolates for fundraising, it is time to get your money handed back in to Madame Rodger. You can find her in the foods room before and after school and on your lunch.  If you need more time, please go see her to discuss.

Good morning Lions! On October 30th and 31st during both lunches at the back of the caf, Halloween candy bags are being sold. Cash only. You can get a small, medium, or large. Don't miss it!

It's that time again! The art club will be meeting on both lunches on Monday, Oct. 30th. For 9s and 11s we will be meeting in room 2015 and for 10s and 12s we will meet in room 2028. See you there for some Halloween art fun!

Any Girls interested in trying out for the Jr or Sr Volleyball Teams please pick up a permission form and sign up outside the Female Phys Ed Office. Try out dates will be announced next week.  If you have any questions, please see Ms. Ferraccioli.

Anyone interested in trying out for the ACS Boys varsity hockey team will need to get a permission form from one of the coaches in room 2027. The forms will be available after school, all week, and tryouts will start in November.

Attention, students!  Exciting news from CWAYC – we're thrilled to announce our upcoming event!  Get ready to step into the shoes of diplomats and world leaders in our Model United Nations. It's a unique opportunity for you to debate global issues, practice diplomacy, and make your voice heard.  Whether you're passionate about politics, international affairs, or just want to experience the thrill of diplomacy, this event is for you!  Find more information, pick up an application form on the CWAYC bulletin board outside of student services.  Applications will be accepted until Friday November 3rd.  The Model UN will take place on Friday December 8th.  Come to Room 1013 if you have questions.

Remembrance Day is around the corner Lions.  Don't miss out on your chance to thank a Canadian veteran.  CWAYC is once again running the Thank a vet writing competition.  In 500 words or less, what would you say to thank and honour a Canadian veteran?  Entries can be submitted to the basket in the main office.  The deadline to submit is Tuesday October 31st.  There are prizes!

Attention students in grade 11 and 12. If you are planning to register for a Specialist High Skill Major you must have your registration form handed in to Student Services by Friday, October 27th. This is a great opportunity, don't miss out! See the SHSM lead teacher or your guidance counsellor for more information. 

On November 3rd our school cafeteria will be filled with display booths from around the world and we want your help. Come and learn how to be a part of this event that will allow you to showcase your culture.  Please be sure to join our next meeting, October 26 in Portable 13 – both lunches!  All the information is on the Social Justice board outside of student services. Hey Lions, are you musically inclined? Do you enjoy performing in front of others? If so, student council is hosting an event just for you! Coffee house is on November 15th, and we would love to see you perform. This year, auditions will be submitted virtually. Please record a short 30 - 45 second video of you performing and email it to Ms. Ristov no later than Monday October 30th. Looking forward to seeing your amazing talents!

Today’s special in the cafeteria will be Buttered Chicken served on steamed basmati rice for $6.00.  A side of naan bread will also be available.  For our vegetarian customers, a Butter Curry Sauce with tomato and onion will be available for $5.25.  As always, add a small water or jet juice for 75 cents.  Have an awesome day Lions!
