1. Monday September 30th is National Truth and Reconciliation Day and all Lions are encouraged to wear an orange shirt (with uniform bottoms) on Monday in support of National Truth and Reconciliation Day.
2. Are you interested in spreading kindness and want to support those who are in need in our community? Do you want to hang out with friends and have a great night while also earning community service hours? Well, we have just the event for you! Come join the Assumption Scares Hunger event held on October 30 from 4 pm to 8:30 pm. The first meeting will be held on October 2, and the second meeting is on October 11th. All meetings are in the lecture hall and all meetings are held during the lunches. Come join the fun and help collect thousands of pounds of non perishable foods for those in need in our community. Want to learn more, and sign up? we hope to see you at the meetings!
3. Student council is proud to announce that ticket sales for this year's homecoming dance will begin next Wednesday, October 2nd on school cash online. The event will run from 6-9pm on Thursday, October 10th and the cost is $7. If you intend to bring a guest from another school, please pick up a guest permission form from the main office TODAY. Guest tickets will be sold starting October 3rd at the back of the caf on all 3 lunches, but permission forms MUST be completed before purchase. A reminder that only one guest is allowed per ACS student, and they must be enrolled in high school to attend.
4. Attention grade nine students who have geography this semester ! You are invited to join the Niagara Falls geography trip on Thursday, October 17th! There are only 45 spots available, so please bring your signed permission form to Mrs. Walsh in room 3024 during your lunch break ASAP! We hope to see you there! 5. Do you love reading graphic novels? Well then LEAP and the Library has an exciting opportunity for you! Svetlana Shamakova, Canadian author of the popular graphic novels, Crush, Brave and the Weirn series, will be coming to Assumption live via a virtual presentation on Wednesday, October 2 at 2:00 PM in the Lecture Hall. If your class isn't already coming and you want to attend, sign up in the Library for your chance to see this wildly, popular author. You must sign up in the library by the end of the day, Tuesday. 6. Romeo, Romeo where art though Romeo? He's at the Stratford Festival! Join us on Oct 9th to see the Stratford Festival's production of Romeo and Juliet. First come, first serve as tickets are selling quickly. There are only 5 spots left!!! See Mr. Agnolin in the staff room in period 1 or Ms. Morissette in portable 2 for field trip forms.
7. Attention F.I.T. Powerlifting Members: Our first meeting will be held in the weight room immediately after school on Friday. For more information and to obtain a permission form, please see Mr. Roche in Room 3028.
8. Attention SINGERS! This is your LAST CHANCE to join Vocal Ensemble. The group will CLOSE to new members after October 1st. For those who are already a member, please make sure to join REMIND. Instructions on how to do so are posted on the music room door, #1154. See Mrs. Ratelband for more information.
9. Attention Lions! Please mark your calendars, the second meeting for Amplify Your Culture will be held on Thursday, October 3rd, on all lunches in the lecture hall. This is also your last chance to join the event and represent your culture to the school! Also please check your emails for important information!
10. Dance Team Auditions will be held Wednesday, October 2nd from 3-5 on the stage in the caf. Register using the QR code outside of the Drama Room and pick up a permission form from Mrs. Boschman. Please wear comfortable clothing to move in and a water bottle. Email Mrs. Boschman if you have any further questions.
11. Listen ACS net club members. Our first meeting will take place on Wednesday, October 2 from 3 to 4 in room 1004. Remember to check your outlook for important information regarding materials you need to bring to the first meeting and to confirm attendance. See you soon Mrs. Cameron.

Sports Desk:
1. Congratulations to the Jr Boys Volleyball team for their incredible performance last night in a tight match against PJ. Shout out to Cameron B. for his great defense against PJ's attacks, Hudson P. for his exceptional sets, and lastly to our player of the match Lucas D. who played fantastic in all aspects of the game to help us bring home the win last night. Great job team.
2. The Sr. Girls Basketball team dominated another season game, this time against PJ. By half, our lady lions were up nearly 40 points and finished the game with a final score of 74-12. Shout outs go to Kate, Jessie and Maddie! Wish our girls good luck as they compete in the Brantford Classic tournament today and tomorrow!
3. Attention Cross Country Runners! Please go to room 2052 which is the room beside the Chaplain office today and Friday to confirm your spot for next week’s races. Don't make Ms. Gomez come find you. Thanks, from your coaches.
