SPORTS:

1.   This past Wednesday our cross-country teams competed at Mohawk park in the AABHN race. Stella K started the cold morning off to a gold medal start as she took the lead late in the race and finished first in her race..... She is clearly faster than her brother Oliver.  The Novice boys, like the girls, came 2nd in the team competition and were led by Oliver S who placed 3rd place in the 4km race.  Our Para Competition, although her uncle Steve ran 4 meters before pulling a hammy, Hudsyn honored the Petrella name by finishing a 4 km race with a top ten finish.   Our junior boys and girls were led by Carter L; who was about to run the race in his uniform shoes, quickly switched to Mr. Prior’s running shoes as the race was starting and placed 3rd.  Yes, there is more! Our Senior Girls claimed the AABHN title in a great effort by all our runners, Danika W led the way by placing 2nd overall to ensure she won her 3rd AABHN title in a row, while also beating her older Sis, apparently there was a sibling bet and Jorja is buying Goos today.  Although, the expositor said Dropko didn't have a great run, he had the last laugh by placing 4th individually and led his team to claiming the AABHN title!  Additionally, shout out goes to Lynx who battled through an injury while running. He was the deciding runner to claim the lions to AABHN title.   Finally, Ms. Gomez would like everyone to know that the teams that were successful at AABHN were coached by her and Mrs. Mastromatteo, while the other teams were coached by Prior.

2.   Last night the junior girls basketball team defeated McKinnon park 64-19. Sienna , Sunita ,Kate and Ali lead the scoring. Tanvee and Aribah played great defense. Next game is Tuesday at PJ.

3.   A big congratulations to the girls field hockey team for winning their third straight title. In the semifinals, the Lions beat a much improved Eagles team by a score of three to nothing. Halle scored two goals and Danika scored one goal. In the final, the girls faced a very tough Hagersville team, and won by a score of one to nothing. Victoria S scored the goal. Shout out to Bella for having zero goals against all season. The lions now move to CWOSSA on Wednesday congratulations and good luck.
