Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board in partnership with YMCA Immigration Settlement Services are hosting a Newcomer Healthy Mind Awareness Night on November 5, from 5-7pm at Assumption College). This event will bring together local service providers, students, parents, and caregivers. Our hope is to promote collaboration in our community, to offer information about mental health services in our community to our Newcomer population. We want to open our school to create a hub for community partnerships and learning for parents and caregivers. This event is free, with pizza, and door prizes for raffle draws at the event. Many of our Assumption students and Prefects have offered to volunteer at this event – all volunteers are asked to register at the sign in table at 4pm to ensure you get your volunteer hours and know your location assignment (where you will be assisting the service providers in the cafeteria) to support the event with set-up.

3. Shoutout to the Senior Boys Volleyball Team! Although the season came to an end in a hard-fought quarterfinal against North Park, the boys showed grit and determination to work together and move on to the next point. Smart net play from Owen D. and Matt M. helped us to gain advantage in the middle of the court. Amazing digs from Carter D. helped us to stay in rallies. Great sets from Carson B. allowed Immanuel R. and Alex J. to finish off points. The goal for all returning players next year is to get taller.
4. Attention all girls interested in trying out for the girls ice hockey team. Tryouts are Tues and Thursday at 3:00pm at Lions Park. You must sign the QR code and take a permission form before going on the ice.
Have a great weekend Lions!
