1. ACS Knit Club. Batch 5 of scarves for the homeless shelter have been dropped off. Our meeting is this Wed, Nov 13th from 3-4 in room 1004. You make a difference! Blessings, Mrs. Cameron
2. Attention grade 9 math students. We are offering extra help in the library after school for grade 9’s on both Mondays and Thursdays. Come on out right after school and get all your math questions answered.
3. Want a free 3-month YMCA gym membership? Sign up for the Y.E.S. program through the YMCA. Sessions run each Tuesday starting November 12- December 19 from 4-6. They provide bus passes, snacks, and community hours while you have fun and make connections with community members and learn about important topics like human trafficking and gang awareness. For registration info see the school website or visit TLC. Tomorrow is the last day to register.
4. Attention Grade 12 & 13 Students interested in attending Queens University. Sign-up to be considered for The Queen’s Chancellor’s Scholarship is available. Marks must be 90% or higher + Leadership + Creative and original thinking. See D2L for details.
5. A reminder that Model UN applications are due on Wednesday to the CWAYC bulletin board. There will also be a mandatory meeting for all applicants on Wednesday at lunch in the lecture hall.
6. For those who signed up to be a part of publishing a book with Book Club, come by after school for a brainstorming session if you missed it this morning. It will be held in the Innovation lab right after the bell. Thank you and I hope to see you there!
7. Thank you to all those that participated in the Quake Thank a Vet writing competition. This year’s winner is Seerat Virk for her moving poem and sincere reflection. Her work is displayed on the quake bulletin board. Seerat, please come to the Remembrance Day wall at the back of the cafeteria right now to receive your prize.
8. Our boys’ varsity hockey tryouts continue today and Wednesday at 3:00 pm, at Lions Park. Players will be released at 2:15 both days. See you on the ice.
9. The first junior girls volleyball try out will be Tuesday at 3:00. Please make s0ure you scan the QR code to sign up and bring a signed permission form with you.
10. The next girls hockey tryout is tomorrow at 3:00pm. Dismissal will be 2:15.
11. Monday's special will be Penne pasta and Beef Meatballs topped with Tomato basil red sauce with a side of garlic toast for $5.50. Donuts for first break available for $2.85.
