1.   Our annual Academic Awards Celebration will be held on Wed., Nov. 27th at 6:00 pm in the school gymnasium.  A huge congratulations to all of our Honour Roll and academic proficiency award winners.  You were each E-mailed an official invitation yesterday, so please check your inboxes.  If you have any additional questions about the upcoming event, please see the Q&A posters outside of the Main Office, the Library, and Student Services. 

2.   The first try out for Senior Girls Volleyball has been cancelled for today and re-scheduled for Monday November 18th at 3:00. Please make sure you have signed up and bring a signed permission form with you. 

3.   This is an announcement for all students who use the library. The library and the cell phone locker will be closed this Monday during periods 1, 2, and 3 for the Literacy Test. Please make other arrangements to charge your phone and work elsewhere. Only students writing the test and students in classes will be allowed to enter the library. 

4.   Attention grade 9 math students.  We are offering extra help in the library after school for grade 9’s on both Mondays and Thursdays.  Come on out right after school and get all your math questions answered. 

5.   The 180 Team is meeting today in the chapel on the lunchtimes. Bring your lunch with you. New members are always welcome to join in.  

6.   Want to have beautiful nails and support a charitable cause? Pop into 1004 at junior lunch to get your nails painted for a suggested $2 donation. All proceeds go to Pennies from Heaven? Hope to see you there: Mrs. Cameron. 

7.   A reminder to all performers for this evening’s coffee house. You must be gathered in the drama room no later than 5:30pm tonight. If you would like to do sound checks or if you have instruments or amps to set up, you should plan to arrive earlier. Looking forward to a great show!

9.   Attention all aspiring writers! The Kiwanis Club is hosting a Youth Writers Fest this Saturday, November 16 from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the Brantford Public Library! There will be interactive booths and activities tailored for teens, plus a special talk by a YA horror author at 2:00 PM. Don’t miss this chance to ignite your creativity and meet fellow young writers! 

10.  The Environment Club will be meeting next Tuesday November 19th, at 3pm in Room 3024. Any current or new members are welcome to join! We will be discussing wildflower planting, a clothing swap, and going outside for a school-ground garbage clean up. 

11.  There is an important meeting for all JUNIOR boys wanting to try out for the basketball team. Please meet in Portable 10 right after school today! Boys basketball tryouts will be held next week! Please get a permission form by the boys PE office and scan the QR code to fill out the survey prior to tryouts.  Junior tryouts will be Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 4:30 – 6:00. Senior tryouts will be Monday and Tuesday from 3:00-4:30. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Petrella or Mr. Dyjack.   

12.  A big shout out to the Assumption Lions DECA club who participated in the Regional  business case study competition this past Sunday at Brock University.  Results are in.  Our five participants did a fantastic job but just fell short to qualify for Provincials.  Congratulations to our DECA Team - Cameron Vamos, Paramveer Grewal, Arav Thakur, Taha Syed, and Gursidak Singh on an awesome performance.  Well done! 

13.  All Jr boys basketball players that are interested in trying out for the team. There will be a brief meeting in the gym after school regarding the tryouts next week. If you can not attend please talk to Mr.Dyjack
