1. The annual Academic Awards Celebration is just one week away! Award winners are reminded to review the details in the invitation and that the Q&A posters remain posted outside of the Main Office, the Library, and Student Services. We look forward to celebrating with you on Nov. 27th
2. LEAPers, tonight by 11: 59 PM, is the deadline for your November Writing contest submission.
3. Guest forms are now available for this year’s semi-formal dance. They can be picked up in the main office. A reminder that guest forms must be completed in full before a ticket may be purchased. There will only be a limited number of tickets available for outside guests for this event, so ensure you get yours early to avoid disappointment. Ticket sales start on Nov 27th.
4. Today after school at 3pm is the second tryout for the Senior Girls volleyball team. Make sure to check the list outside the gym for your name!
5. Lions, have you noticed the Christmas tree on the second floor near the chapel? This beautiful Christmas tree is called the TREE OF HOPE! We set this tree up every year to help with our Pennies from Heaven Campaign. As you can see, the tree is filled with ornaments that have a gift card request written on them. If you feel that you can help one of our school families with one of these generous gift card donations, please remove the tag from the tree, buy the gift card, and return them together to the main office. Every gift card collected will go to the families that we support through our Pennies From Heaven Campaign. Thank you for your support!...and MERRY CHRISTMAS!
6. Hey Hey Homerooms! Listen up! The Pennies from Heaven first classroom collection will happen this FRIDAY. The Social Justice students will be coming around to each class to collect the containers of money every Friday until Dec 6th. Teachers, please excuse the interruption to your class time as we hope this will only take a few minutes. Remember, we will count the money and record it for you!
7. The GSA is meeting today in portable 15 during grade 10 lunch, Student Services during grade 9 lunch, and in 1141 during senior lunch.
8. ACS Knit Club. The meeting is today in room 1004 from 3-4 pm. Bring all your projects! Hope to see you there. from Mrs. Cameron
9. Graduates, there is an important grad meeting, during period 1, on both this coming Thursday and Friday, in the cafe. You will be coming down with your period 1 teacher. If you are not in a grade 12 period 1 class, you will be receiving a guidance appointment slip, indicating which day you are to attend.
10. Attention Math and STEM enthusiasts! Today is the last day to sign up for this week’s guest speaker. This Thursday we’re hosting Dr. Sachin Kotecha, an Assistant Professor from the University of Waterloo's Faculty of Mathematics.
There will be two sessions in the lecture hall: Grade 9 and 10 session at 11:50 - 12:50 and Grade 11 and 12 session at 1:00 - 2:00.
