1. Exciting news! The Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association is proud to sponsor the Young Authors Awards once again! We're celebrating outstanding student writing from K through 12 in both English and French. Students are invited to submit their best fiction, poetry, plays, and nonfiction (up to 3000 words). Winners will progress through school, local unit, and provincial levels, with provincial winners featured in an anthology! Please submit 2 clean copies of each entry to Mrs. Engell in the Library by Friday, February 7th. Happy writing, Lions!
2. Hey LEAPERS, Mrs. Fergus sent you an email last night about a new Creative Writing opportunity. Check out the attachment. It’s called “The What Happened Story.”
3. Are you in an ACS Arts Course – Visual, Music, Drama, Dance or Media? Well good news! You are invited to a meeting about the 2026 New York City Arts Trip! Come out with your parents to an information meeting on Thursday, December 12th at 7PM in the lecture hall! Learn all about how you could be walking through Central Park, shopping in Times Square, seeing a Broadway musical, or viewing world famous art, like Van Gogh’s “Starry Night”! To learn more, see Ms. Benoit in room 2015 for an information package.
4. Mamma Mia!!!!!!! We’re Going to Italy!️!!!!! Attention, students! Have you ever dreamed of saying ciao to the Colosseum, grazie to gelato, and wow to the wonders of the Vatican? Well, the Religion Department is taking you to Italy, March Break 2026, and guess what? If you’ve taken religion—aka EVERYONE—you’re invited! There will be a family information session TOMORROW: Tuesday December 10th at 6:00 PM in the lecture hall. At this meeting, you’ll receive information packages and discover how this trip will make your March Break molto magnifico! Plus, we’ve got a sweet deal for early birds: Sign up by December 31st, and you’ll save $300! HOW FANTASTICO!!!!
