1. Important from Guidance-Today is the last day to sign up for a course change appointment. It will take time to get to you; please be patient and follow your current schedule so we can find you for your appointment. As long as you sign up by today’s due date, you will be seen.
2. Note from the Guidance Department – There is a glitch with Brightspace/D2L causing students to see more courses than they are enrolled in. Please follow the schedule that was emailed to you – these are the courses you are responsible for. We are sorry for this glitch. We have placed a work order to get this rectified for you.
3. Speak-up ACS! LEAP invites you to honour Black History Month through poem, rap, free verse, broadside poem (which is a short poem with art or photography), spoken word, or an
opinion piece. In the words of BLM co-founder Janaya Khan, “Privilege isn’t about what you’ve gone through; it’s about what you haven’t had to go through. And right now, we are in a time that is calling on us to learn the stories that we don’t know.” Please see Mrs. Connolly if you’re interested in sharing your voice.
4. Valedictorian Essay and application due one week from today.
5. The Waterloo Math Contest is coming up! All students are invited to sign up using the STEM or Math D2L pages and complete the appropriate quiz to sign up. There will also be signup sheets at the back of the cafeteria today during all lunches. You can also email Mr. Stec at cstec@bhncdsb.ca to enter and do not need to be enrolled in a math course to sign up. The deadline is today, so come on out and test your mathematical ability!
