Attention Lions. There are some changes to our school calendar for Spirit Wear Day and Casual Dress Day. These changes have been made so we can give proper recognition to Orange Shirt Day occurring every Friday in the month of September. These changes are:
Friday, September 17th – Orange Shirt Day
Wednesday, September 22nd – Spirit Wear Day (moved from the 17th)
Friday, September 24th – Orange Shirt Day and Casual Dress Day (moved from the 22nd)
Attention all grade 12 and fifth year students...Your YEAR AT A GLANCE MEETING will occur this week in the lecture hall. The guidance counsellors will be sharing important information with you regarding college and university applications, scholarships, osap, graduation and much more! Looking forward to seeing you later this week!
Attention Lion Leaders, now is your opportunity to pick up you application to join our Student Council Team. We are responsible for organizing many of our student led activities like Coffee House, Dances and our Semi-Formal, 12 days of Spirit, Spirit of Christmas and much more. Applications can be picked up at the main office and returned to the main office before Friday, September 24th.
The Gay Straight Alliance will have their first meeting in the Lecture Hall TODAY during Grade 9 Lunch: from 12:10-12:50. Grade 10, 11 and 12 students may only attend at the discretion of their classroom teacher. We hope to see you there!

Attention all girls interested in learning how to play field hockey. ACS is looking to start up a team this year. Come to the female phys. ed. hallway to sign up and grab a permission form. The first tryout will be Monday at 3:00pm. If you have any questions, please see Ms McDade or Ms. Lancaster. Come on out and try a new sport! No experience required.
If you are still interested in trying out for the Jr. and Sr. tennis team, please come see Mr. Bednarz in room 2003 on your lunch or after school at the tennis courts to get your consent form. Seniors will have their first tryout today at 3 pm and Juniors will start on Thursday at 3pm. Please make sure you bring your consent forms to your first tryout and come dressed to play!
Permission forms for Jr. boys volleyball (grades 9 & 10) can be found with Ms. Denison in Portable 13 or Mr. DaCosta in Room 2006. No signed form, no try out. Next tryout is Thursday at 7:15a.m. In the gym.

You must wear uniform bottoms. Lori will be selling orange shirts in the main office during lunch for anyone interested in purchasing one. Shirts cost $10 - cash only.
Do you enjoy acting, singing, and dancing? IF so, the musical is for you! This year's musical is a comedy called "Addam's Family" and auditions are on Tuesday, September 21st for DANCE and Wednesday, September 22nd for ACTING & SINGING. Call backs will be on Friday, September 24th and MUST feature a song from the show. All must attend the dance audition and will be taught a dance to repeat, no preparation required. For the acting audition, you must memorize ANY monologue and for the singing audition you can sing with accompaniment or acapella. Don't Forget Lions. Tomorrow is Orange Shirt Day. You can replace your uniform top with an orange shirt. The rest of your outfit must be in school uniform (bottoms, shoes).

Isabella Dowling ACS Student Council Prime Minister for the 2021 - 22 school year.
Isabella Dowling is our ACS Student Council Prime Minister for the 2021 - 22 school year. She has been on council since her grade 9 year and involved in the planning and running of many of our events including Semi Formal, 12 days of Christmas, and spirit wear sales. Isabella was also a crew member for the school's production of the musical Hairspray and partakes in volunteer opportunities in and out of school. Isabella shared, "Being the ACS Student Prime Minister has always been a goal of mine and is a way to give back to our great school community", and she plans to work alongside those on Student Council to create a fun and inviting school environment for all of our students at ACS. We welcome Isabella into this new position and look forward to benefiting from all the work that this council team does.
