A reminder to all participants in We Scare Hunger. We cannot assign a route to any group that has not completed all of their paperwork. Please make sure that every individual has a signed permission form, and that every team has the team sheet with both sides filled out and handed in. All paperwork can be handed in to Student Services.

A reminder to all interested students that the 'What does Canada mean to you?" competition ends on Friday October 13th. All submissions must be uploaded directly to the project website. See details on the CWAYC bulletin board outside student services.
Any students interested in designing this year's Remembrance Day tribute wall must attend a CWAYC meeting in Room 1013 on Monday after school. If you cannot attend but want to be a part of the activity, please email Mrs. Flanagan.

LEAP along with the Library is hosting Ms. Potter in the Lecture Hall on Monday, October 16th during both lunches. Bring your lunch and be prepared to be wowed and inspired by this amazing author. Each person who attends will receive one LEAP point. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Engell in the Library. See you Oct. 16th at lunch in the Lecture Hall.

The Gay Straight Alliance or GSA is meeting in the Drama Room (room 1092) during first lunch and in the Library Reading Room during second lunch. The GSA will also meet afterschool TODAY and Thursday in Room 1007 to finish our mural. Everyone is welcome.

Homecoming Dance is THIS THURSDAY Lions, and tickets are going fast! A reminder that ticket sales for ACS students will continue this week on school cash online until Wednesday. NO cash sales will be accepted at the door. Students attending the dance, please keep the following in mind:
-No resold or traded tickets will be accepted at the door. If you are no longer able to attend the event, please reach out to Ms. Ristov for a refund. You MAY NOT sell or give your ticket to a friend.
-On the night of the dance, please remember to bring your ACS student card or another form of picture ID in order to confirm your identity. Please note we will be using the STUDENT ENTRANCE for this event. Doors will remain open for admission from 6pm to 7pm. No late admissions will be allowed without prior approval.
-Please remember that access to lockers will not be available during the dance, and you will not be permitted to leave the dance and return. Please make sure you have everything you need with you when you arrive. Coat check will be available for bags and other items if needed.
-If you need a late taxi to Caledonia for after the dance, requests must be made in the main office by no later than 12:00 pm on the day of the dance.
-The Homecoming Dance theme is School Spirit. Dress to excess in spirit wear and school colours. Please remember that outfits must adhere to the student code of conduct and should reflect the moral tone of Assumption College School.

In the spirit of Halloween, LEAP presents a creative writing challenge from the horror genre. Warning: for those who dare to write, side effects include (but are not limited to): insomnia, paranoia, night terrors, and vomiting. LEAP is not liable and accepts no responsibility. Enter at your own risk. Visit the LEAP bulletin board outside of Student Services, log onto LEAP’s D2L/Brightspace page, or stop by TLC on your lunch for more details. Deadline for submissions: before nightfall on the 23rd of October. Our top 3 winning submissions will be acknowledged over ATV on October 31st.

If you have this passion, then this year's mission trip might be for you! The school board has been offering this type of mission trip to various locations in North America for over 25 years. The mission trip is a unique experience that allows you to put your faith into action. You will get the chance to work with other students from our school board for one week. The tentative location for this year's mission trip is southern Louisiana. We will be helping in the relief efforts caused by over a decade of hurricane and tornado damage. If you are interested, please pick up an application form and get more details from Mrs. Medeiros in room 1030. Spots are very limited, so apply as soon as possible. Applications are due back by Friday October 13th at the latest!

Students can gain volunteer hours and receive a letter of reference after the program. Any interested students, please feel free to come to the office to pick up a flyer.

CWAYC is proud inform you about an exciting opportunity that is available to all ACS students. The Forum for Young Canadians is hosting the My Canada Project. Students between the ages of 14 and 18 are being asked to answer the question “What does Canada mean to you?” My Canada Project entries can be submitted in any format that can be uploaded, such as: a poem, an essay, a speech, a song, a video, a photo, artwork or other. Projects can be submitted IN ANY LANGUAGE. What does Canada inspire in you? How can we grow? What hope and vision do you hold for Canada’s future? Projects must be handed into the My Canada Project website at mycanada.forum.ca by October 13th. For further details, see the CWAYC bulletin board outside student services or email Mrs. Flanagan.
Practices for the girl's rugby team will begin on Thursday, October 5th, in preparation for the Spooky Sevens rugby tournament. Practices will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15-4:30 for the month of October. You must have been a member of the ACS girl's rugby team last year to attend the Spooky Sevens tournament. For those girls new to rugby, tryouts for the team will begin in second semester. Permission forms can be picked up outside of Room 3010.

Thank you to all those who tried out for stage manager and props manager. The results are posted outside of the drama room. We are asking that the Stage Managers and Assistant Stage Managers come to rehearsal on Monday, October 2nd. Practices for the girl's rugby team will begin on Thursday, October 5th, in preparation for the Spooky Sevens rugby tournament. Practices will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15-4:30 for the month of October. You must have been a member of the ACS girl's rugby team last year to attend the Spooky Sevens tournament. For those girls new to rugby, tryouts for the team will begin in second semester. Permission forms can be picked up outside of Room 3010.

Come out to the meeting on October 2nd in the lecture hall during your lunch to learn about the We Scare Hunger Event, that is happening here on October 27th. This event is the is an awesome opportunity to help fill the cupboards at the St. Vincente de Paul, and it is a fun night here at the school where you will work with a team to collect canned food donations from all over west brant. You also will earn 10 hours of community service if you participate in the event and the meetings! So be sure to mark your calendars for junior and senior lunch time, in the lecture hall, on October 2nd and we explain the whole event to you then!

THE ACS Jack.Org Chapter is Assumption's Mental Health Awareness Team that meets on Fridays. The chapter takes lead on mental health initiatives, anti-bullying week, social media campaigns, and various initiatives on a local and national level. Information sessions will be hosted TODAY during first lunch and right after school in room 3007. Please see Ms. Ristov for more details.
There is a meeting for the 180 Team TODAY on both lunchtimes in the chapel. Bring your lunch and you are welcome to bring a friend, too. The meetings will begin 10 minutes after the lunch bells ring. Tomorrow is mandatory training for retreat leaders in the chapel on both lunch times.
