This is a reminder for all members of the Boys Varsity Hockey team.  There is a practice tonight at Lions Park at 3:30pm.  Please email a coach if you are unable to attend. See you on the ice.

The Gay Straight Alliance or GSA is meeting in the Drama Room during first lunch and in the Library Reading Room during second lunch. Mural painting will continue after school today in Room 1007.

STEM Spirit wear is in and available for pick up in Room 3005. Make sure to get yours before Friday!

Attention Grade 12 Grads!  Grad hoodies are now available for you to order on School Cashonline.   Orders must be submitted by Friday, December 1st.  Grad hoodies CAN be worn on Spirit Wear Days.  Be sure to check Brightspace or the posters around the school for more details.

Hello ACS Knitting Club.  Our next meeting will be on Thursday, November 30th after school from 3 to 4pm in Portable 17. See you there! keep working on the scarfs and blankets. Thank you for all you do.

Tomorrow the 180 Team is meeting to finish creating stocking stuffer packages for our local youth shelters. That's in the Chapel on the lunches. 

There is a fantastic two-week Pennies from Heaven raffle taking place at the back of the caf. during both lunches.  Prizes include a commemorative Wayne Gretzky plate, movie passes, and candy baskets.  There are also games and DVDs left over from the marketplace garage sale.  Everything is being sold for a dollar.  Don't miss out!

Attention grade 11 and 12 SHSM students. There will be important meetings, scheduled by SHSM, in the lecture hall all day on Wed. Nov. 29th. Please check your SHSM D2L page to find out what time your meeting is and make sure to attend. The schedule is also posted on the window of student services.  

Are you ready for Christmas? We know just the thing to get you in the Christmas spirit - the annual ACS Christmas concert held on Thursday, December 7th! We are looking for acts to perform in between the larger performances - solos, duets, singers, instrumentalists, and dancers. IF interested, email your act to Mrs. Ratelband no later than this Thursday, November 23rd.

On Friday, November 24th, come to the Home Alone pajama movie night hosted by your LAC and social justice class. With just $5 you get to enjoy a scavenger hunt around the school with prizes for the winning team. Your $5 ticket will also cover pizza and a drink. Bring a friend or make a friend. Polaroids, candy bags, and popcorn will also be sold at this event so make sure you bring cash. All additional purchases are donated to Pennies from Heaven. Tickets will be sold at the back of the caf all this week. For more information, see Ms. Engell in the library.  

Hey Lions! This year's Semi-Formal Dance will be taking place on Friday, December 1st from 7-10pm. The theme is Black and Red Gala. Tickets for ACS students are NOW AVAILABLE for $15 on School Cash Online, and will remain available until the event sells out. Only 500 tickets will be sold and it is FIRST COME FIRST SERVE, so make sure to get yours early! A reminder that resold or traded tickets will not be accepted at the door. You MAY NOT sell or give your ticket to a friend. Guest tickets will be available for purchase during both lunches at the back of the cafeteria until the event sells out. A reminder that guest permission forms must be filled out completely BEFORE a guest ticket can be purchased. Looking forward to a great event!

Attention Sr. Boys Basketball players.  There will be a very important team meeting TODAY at the end of period 2 in the gym.  It is important that you see Mr. P if you cannot attend.

Because of the Literacy test being written all this week in the library, the library will be closed periods 1, 2, and 3, unless otherwise posted. Please find another space to eat your lunch. We are just a few days away from celebrating our annual Academic Award Ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 22nd.  The first ceremony will celebrate recipients with last names A to K and the second ceremony will celebrate recipients with last names L to Z.   To offer some quick reminders and to help answer any last-minute questions about the two ceremonies, some Q&A posters have been posted at the back of the Caf, outside the Main Office, and in the windows off the Student Entrance.   They address things like where to go, what to wear, parking, and what will happen if you cannot make it.  A chart depicting the Check-in and Award Pick-up locations are also posted in the same locations.  To all our award winners, we are looking forward to celebrating your academic achievements!

On Thursday November 16th, ACS 2002 graduate Amanda Harte, will share her story remotely from Sudbury, in the lecture hall, during both lunches.  She is a graphic artistic for CTV in Sudbury and proudly admits she got her start in news production from our very own ATV.  Join us on the 16th.
