Christmas Holidays are fast approaching, and Student Council has exciting plans for the last day before the break. Shortened classes in the morning, a turkey dinner lunch, and our Spirit of Christmas Assembly in the afternoon. There is plenty of fun to be had by all! The turkey dinner lunch costs only $5, but must be purchased in advance on school cash online. Vegetarian and Halal options are available. Sales will occur from Thursday, December 7th to Sunday, December 17th. Don't miss out on this delicious opportunity!"

December Leap Writing Contest. We have entered the season of Advent. A time for Christians to prepare for the coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ. It is a time of Hope, Joy, Peace, and Love. Your writing challenge is to create a story (fiction or non-fiction) or poem that celebrates either Hope, Joy, Peace, or Love! As the writer, you decide which of the four virtues you would like to celebrate in your writing. Be creative, use your imagination and skills to uplift your readers with Hope, Joy, Peace, and Love! Please limit your submission to 300 words or less (if you go over, no problem). Please submit your writing pieces to Mrs. Bowen by Monday, December 18th! Winners will be announced by Thursday, December 21st. Looking forward to reading your submission, Leapster!

Hey Lions! Student Council is proud to introduce the 12 Days of Spirit! Every day until Christmas Break, Council has planned exciting activities, games, and theme days to bring us into the Holiday season. Today is DAY 1 and marks the start of the Christmas Card Decorating Contest. Homeroom classes will be provided with paper to create a giant Christmas Card for a chance to win prizes for their class. Details have been emailed to staff and cards will be judged during the final two days before the break. Get decorating! May the best class win! Tomorrow is Christmas Hat and Accessory Day, so come prepared to show off your spirit.

The Community Skate Exchange returns this winter. Donate, exchange or pick-up a free pair of gently-used ice skates each Wednesday from December 6 to December 13, 2023 and January 10 to February 14, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Harmony Square main office. Community members in need of ice skates, or looking to exchange their old ones for a new size, are encouraged to attend.
The Metis Nation of Ontario (MNO) is organizing a Youth Cultural Camp for Métis youth (grade 10 to 12) to participate in cultural activities in-person. The camp will celebrate Métis history as well as traditional and contemporary way of life and culture. Please see the Guidance D2L page for more information.

Today is the day! The long-anticipated Teacher vs Student Dodgeball Match will be happening during both lunches today. Remember that this a cash only event and the entrance fee is $2. Can Mr. DaCosta duck and dive? Can Mr. O’Brien outrun a whizzing dodgeball? All of these questions and more will be answered today if you attend this thrilling match! Your $2 cash fee must be paid at the gym entrance before you are admitted. This is a must-see event!
Attention all Jr. Boys basketball practice….there is no practice after school today. Next game is against SJC on Monday at 4pm. You have to wear your blue jerseys on Monday.

The Semi-Formal Dance is THIS FRIDAY Lions, and tickets are going fast! A reminder that ticket sales for ACS students will continue this week on school cash online until Thursday or until the dance sells out. NO cash sales will be accepted at the door. No resold or traded tickets will be accepted at the door. If you are no longer able to attend the event, please reach out to Ms Ristov for a refund. You MAY NOT sell or give your ticket to a friend. The theme of the dance is Black and Red Gala. Dress to excess in semi-formal attire. Outfits do not have to be red and black. Please remember that outfits must adhere to the student code of conduct, and should reflect the moral tone of Assumption College School. Looking forward to seeing you there!
