A reminder that there will be a quick meeting on "how to audition and sign up for Footloose!" TODAY, Monday, Sept. 11th, during 1st lunch from 11:40 to noon AND after school from 3-3:15pm. This is for all dancers, singers and actors in ALL grades. See Mrs. Ratelband or Mrs. Boschman if you cannot attend.
Attention all girls trying out for field hockey. The first tryout is tonight after school. Meet in the small gym at 3:15pm ready to go outside.
The Boys Varsity Baseball team has been posted outside the male phys. ed office. Thank you to all those that tried out. Our first practice will be on Wednesday, September 13th at Bill Little Park from 3:30pm to 5:30pm.
Attention Cross Country Runners! Our first practice is today after school. Please meet at the portable tables for 3:15pm. Please bring your permission forms and proper footwear. Coach Czaplinska and Gomez promise they will only make you run as much as they make Coach Prior! Thank you!
Hello Lions! Our first community outreach has begun, and our first food drive of the year starts today! This food drive will be supporting the Salvation Army, and we are happy to help! This food drive will run from Monday September 11th through Thursday September 14th. Students are asked to bring in , non-expired, non-perishable food items before Thursday. Hygiene products will also be greatly appreciated. Students are asked to donate foods like; cereal, children's snacks, peanut butter, tuna, spam, canned meat and more. Hygiene products can include; diapers, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, and soaps The top 3 classes will win a prize. 1st place will get breakfast, 2nd will get cookies, and 3rd will get TIMBITS!! Thank you for your donations and we look forward to a great collection!
Attention all grade 9 students. Colour Night is THIS THURSDAY! Come on out for a fun-filled evening of games, pizza, and a dance. Ticket sales for this event continue until Wednesday at lunch in the cafeteria. On the day of the event, you will be allowed to dress down in your team colour. Make sure you are wearing your wristband all day long in order to participate in the day's activities! Please remember that outfits should adhere to school dress down guidelines. Athletic footwear and waterbottles are also recommended. Looking forward to a great event! Grade 12s who signed up to volunteer, there will be a brief meeting on Tuesday at the start of lunch in the library reading room. Please see Mrs Ristov if you cannot attend.

The Haldimand Huskies Basketball Club is holding tryouts for U15, U16 and U19 boys rep teams for the 2023-24 Ontario Basketball League season. Tryouts take place on Sept 12th and 14th at Hagersville Secondary School. More information and athlete registration at haldimandhuskies.ca.

Students who need a timetable change to pick a new elective must sign up in guidance by the end of the day today (Friday Sept 8th). Due to the overwhelming demand of requests, it will take counsellors into next week in order to get through all of these appointments. Students who signed up by Friday's deadline should remain patient and continue to follow their original schedule until they are seen by a counsellor. Please refrain from calling or emailing requests, as counsellors are following their appointments in the order that students signed up. Thanks for your understanding!
ACS is proud to be helping in our community with a food drive to support the Salvation Army. This food drive will run next week from Monday until Thursday! We are asking that each homeroom joins in on the fun by having a healthy competition between classes! The homeroom that collects the most amount of food will be given a BREAKFAST party, The Second Top Earning class -will receive Caf cookies! and the Third Top Earning class will receive Timbits! Please consider bringing in a few items for the Salvation Army. All non-perishable foods will be appreciated, but as a special request: pasta, pasta sauce, canned vegetables, canned fruit, canned meat and rice are always needed. Thank you for your support, The Social Justice class.

Don’t forget Lions that tomorrow is Spirit Wear Day. Students can replace a uniform piece with ACS Spirit Wear. If a student has spirit wear on, they can wear any type of shoe.
Should students need any class changes, they must sign up for an appointment with their Guidance Counsellor in the Student Services office by Friday, September 8th. NO changes will be made via email or phone call.

A reminder that lockers are to be cleaned out by the end of the day on Tuesday, June 27th. Students are to take their locks home with them. If you find a textbook in your locker that does not belong to you, please bring it to the main office.
All textbooks will be collected by the teacher before the students write the examination. Outstanding textbooks are to be given to the subject teacher before or on the day of the examination.
Bus routes that leave at noon are posted outside the main office.

Grads, your last day is tomorrow so haul in those items. The draw will take place at Grad Breakfast next week. Any non-graduating winners will be contacted via email. Good luck!!
