Today’s final Book Club meeting and potluck will be held in the Library’s Innovation lab. Look forward to seeing you there!  

June has arrived at last! Time to celebrate PRIDE MONTH! The GSA is having an emergency combined meeting TODAY during 2nd lunch in Portable 15. First lunch members must have permission from their teachers to attend. Please try to stop by, even if just for a few minutes to finalize our PRIDE MONTH activities. Time to show your colours. 

Do you have plans Tuesday, June 4th at 6:00 pm? Are you a dancer at heart?  Or do you just want to witness the talent and artistry of ACS’s very own students? Why not come out to celebrate the Gr. 11 and 12 Dance Class as they present their showcase “One Last Time”. This show will feature 30 dancers in over 20 routines ranging from Hip Hop, jazz, tap, contemporary, lyrical to cultural dance.  Admission is “Pay What You Can” at the door and money collected will go to support ACS’s fundraiser for Haiti.  Doors open at 5:30pm and show starts at 6:00pm.  Please see Mrs. Boschman if you have any questions. 

The guidance department is currently working to resolve course conflicts students have in their schedule for next year.  Teachers:  we ask that you please be diligent in handing out appointment slips this week so that we can meet students who need their courses altered.  Students:  if you get an appointment slip, please attend your appointment on time.  Students who previously signed into their counsellor's book will be seen later this week.  Thank you for your patience!

Attention all Health and Wellness SHSM students, the trip you have been waiting for is here! Please pick up trip forms for the human anatomy lab in room 2029 or on the  SHSM website. Forms are due this Friday to Mrs. Farrell. ONLY grade 11s can attend due to early grade 12 exams. 

Hey Lions! This Friday at 1:00pm, join us in the Lecture Hall for a conversation with author of Scythe and Gleanings, Neal Schusterman. Shusterman’s catalog of largely dystopian work has engaged young adult readers around the world. He will discuss his journey to becoming a writer, his most beloved work, and more. All in attendance will receive one LEAP point. Sign up today in the library.

Any non-grad winners will be contacted via school email.  Prizes to be won are Apple Airpods, Stanley Tumbler, and various gift cards. 

Lions, if you are between the ages of 12-15, the YMCA has a great offer for you.  The Y.E.S. program (Youth Engagement Series) is offered each Tuesday from 4pm to 6pm at the Y.  After completion, you will receive volunteer hours as well as a complimentary 3 month YMCA membership. Attend the 6 week program and learn about various topics offered by Brantford Police Services. Snacks are provided as well as transportation if necessary.  If interested, please check the school website for more details or the bulletin board in TLC.

There will be a brief meeting for the Bantam Boys Rugby team during first lunch at the Male Phys-Ed office. This meeting is to discuss the Barbarian Cup invitation. 

There will be a brief Jack Chapter meeting today at 3:05pm in the Lecture Hall. The meeting will run until 3:45pm. Please let Miss Dabrowski know if you cannot attend. Thank you and have a mentally healthy weekend! 

The Debate Club will be meeting today after school in Room 1013. New Members are welcome.

The Brantford Rotary Classic Run is this Sunday at W. Ross McDonald School.  Any runners interested in participating in the 5km race can register online, any further question please ask Mme. Beccari, Mrs. Denison-Hewko, or Mr. Prior. You Run, Kids Win! 

Shazam! Pow! Woosh! It’s Friday and the time has come Lions to put your faith into action. Venture on down with pencil and lunch in hand to Mrs. Sheldrake’s office – Room 2053 – first lunch and Room 3004, during second lunch for this week's fantastic Bible study. Jesus said, “No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket, but rather on a lampstand, and it gives light for all who are in the house”. You are the light of the world and specifically this Bible study, so come bring your light. All are welcome and wanted.

Today during both lunches, there will be an Asian Heritage Month performance and fashion show in the gym.  This event has been organized by the ACE Club with over 50 students involved.  All are welcome to attend.  Don't miss out on this free cultural experience!

The Chess Club will be meeting after school today in Room 2023. All are welcome to attend, but those attending the tournament on Wednesday MUST attend to confirm transportation to and from the tournament.

Reminder that today is the last day for the Mehndi or henna booth selling for $4 and you can still get Polaroid pictures for just $2 in front of the south Asian display. Don't miss this opportunity - all proceeds go to Islamic relief Canada's emergency appeal providing aid to countries all around the world.

Tonight is the night, and our voices are ready for Spring Karaoke! Jack Chapter members will be selling tickets for $5 at the back of the caf. Tickets include pizza, prizes, and surprises! If you would still like to come to the event and did not bring money, please be sure to sign up at the back of the caf at lunch so you are accounted for, and you're allowed to bring cash for the event at the event. Join us for a fantastic and fun filled night! 

All Jack Chapter members are required to meet after school today for set up for karaoke in the cafeteria at 3:10pm.

This event sold out last year so if you played on an ACS team this season, get your ticket fast and come out and celebrate our awesome athletic teams.

If your plans include a post-secondary education in the STEM fields, you won't want to miss this event.  Dismissal times are 11:20am & 12:40pm. Please try to arrive on time.

There will be a voluntary meeting after school today for students who wrote the Euclid Math Contest.  Please come to room 3011 after school where we will discuss this past contest's questions together.  Students interested to see the contest questions are also welcome.

Tickets are $5 and will be sold in the caf. The price includes two slices of pizza, and prizes! This $1,000 scholarship is offered to a graduating student who has been accepted to a 4-year University Science Program. Attention Class of 2024 - We have a generous Scholarship in Memory of James Robert Lefler. This $1,000 scholarship is offered to a graduating student who has been accepted to a 4-year University Science Program. The student must have the goal of becoming a medical doctor with an interest in Oncology or Cardiology.  See D2L for application Details.

Reminder! ACE Club's first ever Boba Booth for Asian Heritage Month is happening TOMORROW, in the back of the cafeteria!! Each drink costs only $4, but first come first serve: limited selling of 60 per lunch.  All proceeds will be going to the Islamic Emergency Relief appeal!

Attention music students going to Wonderland - please make sure to purchase your t-shirts before we leave and bring your permission forms. The bus departs at 8:45am so be on time!! A reminder it is a cashless venue, meaning you can only use a debit card or purchase a card at Wonderland. Bring sunscreen and dress for the weather.

Attention grade 11 students!  Assumption College is excited to announce that we are offering many NEW online courses for the next year.  As a reminder, students require TWO online courses between grades 9 - 12 as a graduation requirement.  Our new grade 12 UNIVERSITY level courses are Earth and Space Science, World History, and Personal Finance.  We will also be offering grade 12 COLLEGE level Legal Studies.  Interested students please make an appointment with your guidance counsellor.

Attention all Health and Wellness SHSM students!  TODAY during period 4 in Lecture Hall, we have a fantastic presentation from Dr. Jeff Zaltzman, Director of the Nephrology at St. Michael's Hospital. He will be speaking to us virtually from Toronto about organ transplants. We will have the opportunity to ask questions about organ transplants in Ontario.  Please email Mrs. Farrell if you plan on attending so that I can inform your period 4 teachers.  Remember grade 11s you need to attend SHSM presentations like this in order to complete you SHSM certification. You should make an effort to attend 2-3 presentations in each school year.  This event is also open to any grade 12 SHSM student not attending grad retreat.

The weather is beautiful, the sun is shining, and our voices are ready to sing after a long winter! It's time for Spring Karaoke! The event will take place this Friday from 6-9pm. Tickets are $5 and will be sold in the caf starting TODAY! The price includes two slices of pizza, and prizes! If you're not a singer, come out and support your friends, there will be additional games and surprises! Don't miss out on this fun event! 

Attention all students interested in playing football next year.   There will be a Jr. and Sr. Football mini training camp from June 4th to 7th on the Upper Field.  Camp will run from 3:30-6:00pm.  If you are interested in this opportunity, please see Mr. Petrella for a permission form.  There is no cost associated with this Football Camp.  Hope to see as many of you out there as possible.
