Tuesday, February 27th, 2024

This Wednesday is Pink Shirt Day.  This is a celebration of moments of kindness, empathy, and understanding that can mean so much to children impacted by bullying.   On Wednesday, students may replace their uniform top with a pink shirt.

There will be a Yearbook Club meeting TODAY after school. The meeting will start at 3:05pm in Room 2028. Yearbook Club will meet EVERY TUESDAY after school. New and past members are encouraged to come! 

Attention students writing the Waterloo Math Contest.  Today, afterschool, Mr. Stec will be running a practice session in Room 3011 to look over past contest questions in preparation for tomorrow's contest.  The Grade 9, 10 and 11 contest is tomorrow morning in the Library.  If you have signed up, please come to the Library first thing in the morning and ready to write.  

Grade 12s, today is the last day to sign up for the Euclid Math Contest.  Please contact or see Mr. Stec in Room 3011 by the end of the day to have your name included.

Attention ACS Knitting Club.  A reminder that our meeting is today after school from 3pm to 4 pm in Portable 17. Hope to see you there. We will meet weekly on Tuesdays afterschool. Same time and location. Thank you for all you do.

Attention Lions! Assumption Cares will be changing lives right here at ACS this April.  To find out how you can get involved, come to the Lecture Hall this Wednesday at both lunches for our big kickoff.

Attention CWAYC member and all students interested in Mock Trial.  The 2024 case has been released.  Interested students must come to an information meeting at 3:00pm on Thursday February 29th in Room 1013.

Students interested in training for Track and Field can sign up using the QR Code outside the male Phys. Ed office.  Permission forms can also be picked up there.  Training sessions will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays after school.  Weather permitting we will train outdoors, so dress accordingly.  Feel free to see Mr. P if you have any questions.

A new order of Spirit Wear has arrived. We now have up to order number 806. Orders can be picked up on your lunch at the Student Council office.

Attention STEM members, today is the last day to sign up for the STEM Olympics. The four day event starts on Thursday!

Grade 10 students! Today is the day to sign up to be leaders for the Grade 9 retreat sessions this semester. It's a great opportunity to begin leadership. You must attend a mandatory training session TODAY in the Chapel at Grade 10 lunch. Bring your lunch with you and arrive promptly at the beginning of your lunchtime. That's in the Chapel today.

There will be a meeting for the Black Heritage Month fashion show TODAY in the gym from 3-5pm. All those interested in participating in the fashion show during our BHM assembly are welcome to attend.

Attention all STEM members, today is the day!!! This STEM presentation is NOT to be missed. Our next guest is former Lion Greg Rell who works for Universal Entertainment in Florida and builds Roller Coasters!! In 2011 he moved to Singapore to build the Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure before moving back to Orlando to engineer such rides as Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts, King Kong, and Hagrid's Magical Motorbike Adventure. His new project is Universal's new theme park called Epic Universe! Come see how coasters are designed, watch some cool videos and lose yourself in the ride.  Dismissal times are 11:20 & 12:40, Don't be late!

Course Registration for the 2024-2025 school year are now past due.  During Period 4 TODAY (not period 1 due to the elementary musical), students are asked to return their Signed Course Selection sheets and their School Cash Online Receipt to our secretarial team in the cafeteria.  Students are only to be released from class if they have shown their teachers the two pieces of paper required for registration.

Did you know it's Freedom to Read week? It is an annual event that encourages Canadians to think about and reaffirm their commitment to intellectual freedom, a guarantee under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Some of the most controversial books in history are now regarded as classics. Come to the library today to sign a pledge to protect your freedom to read and to learn more about this event and some of the banned books from history.
