Morning Announcements

Attention Students! If you need a semester two schedule change you can sign-up for an appointment. The last day to sign-up for schedule changes is TODAY.  Remember, schedule changes can only be made if you need to change levels or an elective.

The ACS Jack Chapter will be meeting TODAY after school at 3:05pm in the Lecture Hall. The ACS Jack Chapter is a mental health awareness team, that fosters growth in positive mental health and helps in eliminating stigma. We are welcoming new members from all Grades for the remainder of February. It is truly a fun group to be a part of during your high school career! If you have any questions, please contact the Dabrowski sisters. Have a mentally healthy day! 

Attention all current or interested Environment Club Members.  There will be an Environment Club meeting on Wednesday February 14th after school in Room 3024. Hope to see you there! 

A reminder to all gr. 12 students participating in the DELF exam:  Registration is due TODAY by 3pm.  There are 2 steps to this process:
#1 - Submit your form to Madame McCulloch
#2 - Register online via the link provided in the information letter.  See Madame if you have any questions!

IT'S NOT TOO LATE! You can still get your tickets for "Footloose". Go to assumptionlions.com to buy your tickets online TODAY. The show goes up Thursday, Feb. 29th and runs until Saturday March 2nd. All shows are at 7p.m. with a matinee on Saturday, March 2nd at 2p.m. You don't want to miss this toe tapping musical that will leave you soaring!

Valentines Day is around the corner lions! Are you looking for a little something to give your special someone? How about some beautiful carnations? Student council will be selling carnations for $2.50 each at the back of the cafeteria all week. Flowers will be delivered to period 4 classes on Tuesday, February 13th. Just in time for Valentines Day!

Valedictorian essays and applications are due to Mr. Cacilhas, in the Main Office, before 3pm TODAY.  Also, the electronic copy of the essay is due to Mrs. Fergus via her email, at that time as well. All necessary info is in the Grad Package from the November meetings and is also on the Grade 12 D2L page. 

Attention Graduates! If you need to retake your graduation photos, Edge Imaging will be here February 13th and 14th! Please book your appointment time by going to the bookmygrad.ca website. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Mastromatteo (Czaplinska).

The Young Authors' Writing Contest deadline is end of day on Monday February 12th. See any English teacher for the particulars on format, expectations, and submissions. 

Today’s special in the cafeteria will be a BBQ pulled pork sandwich and a small order of fries for $6.25 or you can make a pulled pork poutine for $6.75.  Today’s soup is homemade French Onion for $3.85.  Don’t forget to add your mozzarella cheese and homemade baked croutons.  Have an awesome day Lions!

2. STEM Olympics start on Thursday Feb 29th. Compete against follow grade members to determine this year's STEM Olympic Champions! Sign ups are again just outside of Room 3005.
3. The window to purchase the final round of STEM Spirit Wear will be closing TODAY. Be sure to purchase yours before it is too late.

For the next 2 weeks come to the Library and unwrap a book and create a Poem using the book you selected. The best poem will win an Amazon gift certificate. Rush to the library today before all the Blind Date Books are gone. LEAP members who enter the contest will receive a LEAP point. Contest closes Monday, February 19th.

Today’s special in the cafeteria will be Chicken Quesadillas made with cheese, mozzarella, peppers, and red onions for $6.25.  Cheese and Veggie Quesadillas are available for $5.25.  Have an awesome day Lions!

No early dismissal required.  VERY IMPORTANT information concerning events taking place in second semester are being revealed. DON'T be the last to find out!  Bring a Loonie! Attention to the cast and crew of "Footloose": please remember your costumes for our next rehearsal on Wednesday, Jan. 31st from 10am to 2pm. Please be prompt. The following bus routes will be leaving at 12:10pm on exam days.  Routes B-725, B-730, B-733, 18, and 18A.  All other routes will be leaving at their regular dismissal time.

Attention Lions!  In case of a snow day during exams, all exams will be pushed back a day.  For example, if there is a snow day on the Period 2 exam day (Jan. 26th), then period 2 exams will be written on Monday, Jan. 29th, Period 3 on Tuesday, Jan. 30th, and Period 4 on Wednesday, Jan. 31st.

A reminder that the cafeteria servery will be closed during exams.

Second semester schedules have been emailed to students board email accounts.  Please check your new schedule as there have been many changes since September.
